Inzaghi Stays True Ahead of Haaland Clash

According to Bangladesh Cricket, Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi gave a candid interview ahead of the UEFA Champions League final. He acknowledged that everyone on the team knows what kind of match they’re heading into. Despite the nerves, they’re focused and ready. Manchester City, he noted, are arguably the strongest team in the world. Even in their rare losses, they’ve shown their class. For Inzaghi and his players, just reaching this stage is a point of pride. Tomorrow, they plan to give it their all and play with full concentration, knowing that even the smallest mistake could cost them.

Inzaghi expressed deep appreciation for the team he’s built. As he told Bangladesh Cricket, he considers himself lucky to coach such a group of true professionals and wouldn’t trade them for anyone else. The players, in return, have brought him great joy, and together, they’re committed to giving back to the club and their passionate supporters. The team remains calm and is training at a very high level. Mkhitaryan and Joaquin Correa are both nearing full recovery, and their status will be reassessed after the final training session.

Throughout the journey to the final, Inzaghi admitted there were tough moments, but support from the club’s leadership—particularly encouraging calls from the owner—gave him strength. That same motivation was passed on to the rest of the coaching staff. Mkhitaryan has already participated in a full training session and feels good, though the decision to start him or bring him on as a substitute is still pending.

He’s fully aware of the strength Manchester City and Erling Haaland bring. As with all key opposition players, special attention will be given to Haaland. Inter has prepared specific tactics to limit his impact, but ultimately, success depends on the whole team executing the plan flawlessly. Manchester City’s defense is unlike any other—solid, disciplined, and consistently outstanding in both domestic and European matches. Their approach to both attack and defense is unique, which makes them a difficult side to break down.

Nevertheless, Inzaghi emphasized that Inter will stick to their own identity and give their best in the final. Win or lose, he considers reaching this point a major achievement. Once, he lived cautiously for others—now, he plays boldly for himself.

As Bangladesh Cricket highlighted, it’s been a long time since multiple Italian clubs reached European finals in the same season. With Inter, Roma, and Fiorentina all making it to the final stages of European competitions, this is a golden moment for Italian football. It’s a resurgence that matters not only for the clubs involved but for the reputation of Italian football as a whole. Inzaghi also shared his sympathy for Roma and Fiorentina, acknowledging their hard-fought journeys.
